Francis Pry, 60, of Sand Springs, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 with his family members gathered near him. Born in Rockford Il on October 1, 1951, he was the only boy out of five children born to Terrell Pry and Zella (Beaver) Pry. Francis was a heavy equipment mechanic for Yellow House/Deere Inc.
An outdoor man, Francis enjoyed hunting and archery, and riding his Harley motorcycle. Mowing the yard on his riding mower was his way to relax and watch the world go by. Although his primary occupation was a mechanic for heavy equipment, he also was good at small engine repair and in more recent days he would spend time on the front porch cleaning and repairing guns. His front porch was also a good vantage point for another thing he enjoyed doing-watching “his” deer roam around the property.
Survivors include his daughter Tonya Pry of Sand Springs, his son, Richard Earl Pry of Junction City, KS, three grandchildren, Peyton Kennedy, Preston Kennedy, and Perry Pry. He is also survived by his sisters, Gladys Wheaton of Sand Springs, Lana Peek of Rockford, IL, Sandra Bargman of Machesney Park, IL, and Rose Cypret of Billings, MO., other family members and many friends from through the years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012. The family will be greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. that day. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the Mobley-Dodson Chapel with Dr. Kent Choate officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
