Dixie Regina Kern, age 59, of Sand Springs, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. She was born one of five children to Jack and Rita Massey on December 31, 1952 in Tulsa, OK.

Dixie graduated from Charles Page High School. She was united in marriage to Ross Kern on June 10, 1973 in Sand Springs, OK. She and Ross enjoyed traveling across the country and were blessed to visit many states. Her most treasured moments, however, were spent with her family who will miss her greatly.

Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Jack and Rita Massey; and grandparents, Ted and Alice Doss, and Lawrence and Alice Massey.

Dixie is lovingly survived by her husband, Ross Kern of Sand Springs; her son Daniel; grandchildren, Dakota, Danielle, and Cameron; sisters, Debbie O’Neill and husband Mike of Sand Springs, Denise Christy and husband Don of Glencoe; Drusella Webster and husband Steve of Sand Springs; brother Darren Massey and wife Wendy of Sand Springs; sister-in-law Rosemary Mason and husband Gary of Spring Valley, AR; brother-in-law Jim Kern and wife Sue of Hindsville, AR. She is also survived by the following nieces and nephew, all of whom she had a hand in raising: Heather O’Neill Miller, Adam Webster, Jennifer Webster Sartin, Holly O’Neill Gaete, Heather Hartin, Haylee Massey, Paige Christy, Beth Hill, Kathy Heath, Ricky Doss, Joyce Kern Keck, and Lori McGill. Dixie has also provided memories for numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to family and friends who have offered prayers and thoughts.

Graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Woodland Memorial Park.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
