James Robert Gobble

James Robert Gobble, 64, of Sapulpa and formerly of Sand Springs, passed away at his home in Sapulpa on Monday, August 6, 2012. He was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee on September 29, 1947 to Charles C. Gobble and Norita E. (Newton) Gobble. Marilyn Kathleen “Kathy” Poulter Creason and James were married in Sand Springs on April 28, 2001 and had enjoyed ten years of marriage prior to her death on April 28th, their anniversary date, in 2011. James was employed as a Security Officer at several local businesses

A dedicated camper and fisherman, he could be found at the lake on as many occasions as his home and work schedule allowed. He was also a mean Solitaire player, and enjoyed movies, mainly funny movies and seasonal movies at Christmas time.

He is survived by a son, Robert Gobble of McAlester, his mother, Norita Gobble, grandchildren, BreAnn Lavon Watkins and Faith Nicole Watkins, sisters, Pauline Flynn of Tulsa, Teresa Freeman of Sapulpa, and Angela Rardin of Tulsa, and his brother, David Anthony Gobble of Tulsa, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Kathy Creason-Gobble and his daughter Joy Watkins.

A memorial service for James is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at Prattwood Assembly of God, 401 W 41st St, Sand Springs, with Reverend Steve Bookout and Reverend Dale Watkins officiating.
