Robert Douglas Batt

Robert Douglas “Bob” Batt, 54, passed from this life on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. He was born on July 18, 1958 in Lincoln, Nebraska to James E. and Alyce (Kampman) Batt.

Bob grew up and graduated from high school in Lincoln, Nebraska. He went on to attend the University of Nebraska, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was currently employed with Willbros Engineers. In his spare time he enjoyed exploring on the computer. Bob’s biggest fan, was his Red Heeler mix dog, Ruby, with whom he shared a special relationship after adopting out of rescue over 13 years ago.

Surviving Bob is his longtime partner, Debra Grigsby; children, Kelly Batt and fiancé Paul Haws, and Gary Batt and wife Danielle; step-son, David Thomas Grigsby; brother, Bill Batt and wife Lori; grandchildren, Courtney Haws, Donevin Batt, Paul Haws, and Natalya Batt; nephews, James Batt and Mark Batt; aunts and uncles, Carol Batt, Linda and John Adams, and Mernie Stevens; and numerous cousins.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs with Pastor Todd Craig officiating.

Viewing and visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tulsa SPCA, 2910 Mohawk Blvd, Tulsa, OK 74110, (918) 428-7722.
