Virginia “Louise” Carder, 84, went to join her Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on July 9, 1928 in Sallisaw, OK.
Louise was raised in Sallisaw, attending public schools. Upon graduation, she moved to Tulsa to attend Draughon Business School, going on to work for Public Service Company of Oklahoma. It was in Tulsa that she met her future husband, James A. “Jim” Carder. They were united in marriage on April 6, 1947 and Jim decided to make her a homemaker. To this union were born three children, Jimmy, Mary, and Carol. Mrs. Carder was known as an independent woman who enjoyed life.
Louise is survived by her children, Jimmy Carder and wife Diana, Mary Spencer and husband Garold, and Carol Wicker and husband Donnie; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Jim Carder; and two sisters, Hazel Johnson and Reba Evans.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2012 at Lawnwood Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Loveless officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Woodland Memorial Park.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
